Owek. Joseph Kawuki, the Minister for Local Governments who oversees the Kabaka’s visits and Buganda affairs abroad, arrived in the UK to further coordinate preparations for the first-ever Buganda Bumu Europe Convention (BBECO), a historic event on the European continent.
Minister Kawuki was welcomed by the Kabaka's Representative in the UK and Ireland, Oweek. Ssaalongo Godfrey Kibuuka, and his Deputy, Ms. Janat Nabatta Mukiibi, at Gatwick Airport in London.
The convention will be held in the town of Edmonton, North London, from the 13th to the 15th of September 2024, and will be officially opened by the Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga.
