Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, in his speech at the ceremony, urged the Baganda to know the importance of the last funeral rites and to follow the traditions and customs of the ceremony. He explains that the last funeral rites is one of the ceremonies that further reinforces the importance of the well-known clans through which Kabaka Kintu united his people.
The Katikkiro further said that the last funeral rites is a ceremony that brings people together after mourning, strengthens relationships, and reinforces our values. He urged the heir and his co-heir to protect the legacy of the deceased and to guide their colleagues whom they will lead.
