“These days, you hear a parent naming their child after a foreign footballer—and you wonder what happens when that player retires.”

This was stated by the Minister for Information, Mobilization, and Spokesperson of the Buganda Kingdom, Owek. Israel Kazibwe Kitooke, while attending an inter-cultural exhibition event held at Muzza High School in Kabembe, Mukono District.

He urged parents to instill cultural pride and identity in their children, encouraging them to embrace their roots and stop copying foreign lifestyles.

Owek. Kazibwe also called upon Ugandans to stop discriminating among tribes and nationalities, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, unity, and appreciation of other cultures.

The Headteacher, Ms. Annet Harriet Tusiime, highlighted the value of showcasing cultural heritage, describing it as a rich treasure that teaches morals and behavior. She added that unity at the school has significantly contributed to the students' upbringing.

The event was also attended by the Youth Representative in the Buganda Kingdom Parliament, Owek. Ann Namayanja Kigudde.

During the function, the school’s Lacrosse team proudly presented a trophy they won in inter-school competitions in Tororo, and will now represent Uganda in the upcoming East African games.
