Katikkiro, while addressing the youth

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga urged Baganda youth living abroad not to let their cultural heritage fade away.

He emphasized that there comes a time when it is essential for those living in foreign countries to explain their identity, which showcases the richness and uniqueness of our culture.

At this event, he urged Baganda youth living abroad to excel in everything they do, so they can be valuable and needed in the places where they live, instead of merely seeking to be favoured or treated specially in foreign lands

He stressed that our culture is reflected in our way of life, as it defines a true Muganda—one who is disciplined, self-respecting, hardworking, respectful to others, and keen on knowing their cultural roots.

The Katikkiro highlighted that Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II is eager to hear the outcomes of this meeting, and he commended the high level of discussions on various topics aimed at building the future of the Kingdom's youth.

He advised the youth to focus on their education, as it is the key to distinguishing themselves and putting their knowledge into practice with discipline and dedication.

Minister Joseph Kawuki, who was also present at the meeting, called on the youth to maintain strong relationships with people who have integrity, as this would help them secure a bright future for Buganda, in line with Kabaka’s vision. He highlighted that Kabaka had entrusted Katikkiro Mayiga to prepare the youth for service to the Kingdom.

He also reminded the youth that they are the current and future owners of Buganda, urging them to stay engaged and not remain passive observers when it comes to matters of the Kingdom.
