Minister for Information Israel Kazibwe Kitooke delivers the official statement
The Official Statement from the Kingdom
Greetings to you all. I trust this message finds you well. I am pleased to inform you that His Majesty the Kabaka is in good health and continues to sit proudly on the Throne of his Ancestors in Mengo.
Recently, there have been several videos circulating on social media that aim to undermine and disrupt the Kingdom of Buganda. In these videos, Kafunende Moses, a self-proclaimed witch doctor, refers to himself as the King of Spirits.
One of these videos features Kafunende Moses holding a ceremony in Nakateete, Buddu, where he was treated to rituals traditionally reserved for the King of Buganda. The video also showcases a witch doctor, who refers to himself as Ssaabakabona JJumba Aligaweesa, introducing Kafunende as the one who has been enthroned on the ancestral throne of Kibulala and claiming that he is now the king.
I would like to inform the people of Buganda that these actions, which appear in the videos, are completely unrelated to the Kingdom's traditions and hold no significance to us. They are not worthy of our attention.
We thank the Ssababito of Kibulala for stepping forward on this matter and addressing those who seek to disrupt the public with such false claims.
We remind the people of Buganda that the constitutional issue of "Protecting and Preserving the Throne" concerns us all, and we must not allow anyone to demean or violate its dignity.
Buganda should remember that His Majesty the Kabaka has already warned us about such individuals. We must be cautious of their motives and the forces behind them. Let us remain firm in our unity and not be swayed by these distractions.
As always, we remind you to listen to the official statements from the Palace, through the Government of the King, led by the Katikkiro. Do not be swayed by everything you hear or read on the internet.
Long Live His Majesty the Kabaka!
Israel Kazibwe Kitooke
Minister for Information, Mobilization, and Kingdom Spokesperson
