Preparations for the Buganda Bumu European Convention 2026 in progress.
The Chairperson of the Organising Committee and Deputy Representative of the Kabaka in the Rhinelands, Ms Linda Ssekayita, led fellow committee members in preparations as they met the Minister in charge of Buganda Affairs Abroad and the Kabaka’s visits, Owek. Joseph Kawuki.
During the meeting, they presented updates on what has been achieved so far and what remains to be done ahead of the convention scheduled for August, with the aim of ensuring all arrangements are finalised in time.
Minister Joseph Kawuki guided the team on key areas that require special attention in the preparations, emphasising the importance of presenting a positive and dignified image of Buganda.
He commended the organising committee for the progress made so far, as well as for visiting the Buganda Kingdom headquarters to receive further guidance.

The meeting was attended by Owek. Samuel Ssekajugo Musoke, the Kabaka’s Representative in the Rhinelands; Owek. Mugenyi Nelson, the Kabaka’s Representative in Sweden and Scandinavia; Mr Frank Kyambadde from Germany, who also serves as Secretary of the Organising Committee; and Ssamula Robert, the Coordinator for Buganda Affairs Abroad.
The Buganda Bumu European Convention 2026 is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, in August.
