He noted that healthcare in Buganda has deep roots, with doctors historically receiving support from the Kabaka’s administration. Over different reigns, the Kabakas expanded healthcare, with Ssekabaka Muteesa establishing hospitals, including those in Buvuma and Gombe in Butambala.
Kabaka Mutebi has continued to strengthen healthcare, particularly for children, by establishing hospitals, health centers, vaccination programs, fistula treatment, Hepatitis B prevention, and other maternal and child health initiatives.
The Minister of Community Development and Health in the Buganda Kingdom, Oweek Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, thanked His Majesty the Kabaka for extending health services directly to the people, including hospitals in Mukungwe Buddu, Busimbi, Nsangi, and Bukalasa. She urged the new board to apply their expertise effectively in their assigned positions.
