In a splendid display of diplomatic camaraderie, the Buganda Kingdom had the honor of hosting a distinguished guest, His Highness Alhajj Aminu Ado Bayero, the esteemed Emir of Kano State in Nigeria. The revered Emir, also known as Sarkin Kano, emphasized the paramount importance of fostering deep connections between Kano State and the Buganda Kingdom.
The special royal guest was treated to an exquisite dinner at the enchanting "Maya Nature's Resort" in Maya, where the warmth of hospitality blended seamlessly with discussions of mutual interest.
The gracious dinner, hosted by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, served as a heartfelt token of appreciation for the warm reception extended during their visit to Kano in September, where they participated in the prestigious "Kano Durbar" on behalf of the King. He also expressed gratitude for the gracious opportunity to spend the year-end holiday in Buganda.
Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero conveyed his sincere thanks to the Buganda Kingdom, expressing gratitude for the accompaniment of the First Deputy Prime Minister throughout his stay, from November 22 until his departure to Nigeria. The Emir, in a promising gesture, announced plans to return soon, aiming to bring investors and explore development opportunities that could further enrich the region.
Hon. Prof. Kaawaase reciprocated the gratitude, emphasizing the significance of the Emir's decision to spend his holidays in Buganda as a means to strengthen the historical ties between the two kingdoms. As a gesture of goodwill, he presented the Emir with an official brochure from the Royal Investment Commission (BICUL), showcasing the myriad investment opportunities available in the Kingdom of Buganda.

In his commitment to fostering collaboration, Hon. Prof. Kaawaase pledged to actively pursue the involvement of investors from Kano, working in tandem with the Emir's office. The shared objective is to catalyse the development of Buganda, ultimately generating employment opportunities and contributing to the region's prosperity.
The positive interactions extended beyond the royal dinner, as Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero was also graciously hosted at the residence of the Nigerian Ambassador to Uganda. The evening event brought together influential heads of the Nigerian community in Uganda and leaders from the Islamic University in Uganda, fostering cultural exchange and diplomatic ties.
Concluding his enriching visit, Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero bid farewell to Buganda today, returning to Kano, Nigeria.
