Hon. Speaker Patrick Mugumbule welcomes guests from the Rwenzururu Kingdom at Bulange, Mmengo

A delegation from the Rwenzururu Kingdom, led by Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Kule Benson Baritazale, visited Bulange Mengo on Wednesday to exchange ideas on effective governance with Buganda Kingdom officials.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties and share strategies for traditional leadership. On behalf of Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, welcomed the Rwenzururu leaders alongside other Kabaka's ministers.

He highlighted Buganda's commitment to non-political, traditional leadership that fosters stability and development.

The Rwenzururu leaders toured several key institutions in Buganda, including the Buganda Lukiiko Hall, BBS Terefayina, CBS FM, and the Buganda Land Board. During the tour, Owek. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, the Second Deputy Katikkiro and Treasurer of Buganda, explained Buganda's leadership structure, its engagement with the public, and the kingdom's approach to development.

Owek. Nsibirwa highlighted the potential of traditional leadership to enhance public service while maintaining impartial governance. He described the collaboration as a platform to strengthen stability and mutual growth between the two kingdoms.

"Buganda’s achievements are driven by innovation, transparency, effective communication, cultural respect, unity, and the people's love for their Kabaka and heritage," Nsibirwa said.

The Rwenzururu leaders expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted the value of exchanging knowledge on governance practices. They shared insights on their own efforts to improve service delivery in their kingdom.

Also present were Buganda ministers Owek. Noah Kiyimba, Owek. Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, Owek. Anthony Wamala, and Owek. Mariam Mayanja Nkalubo, who shared messages with the guests.
