The Attorney General of Buganda, Owek. Christopher Bwanika, has urged parents to lead the fight to restore discipline and good morals in children. He emphasized that a strong nation begins at home, as families are the foundation of positive behavior and character.

Owek. Bwanika shared this message at Stena Hill Secondary School in Lukuli, Nanganda, where students showcased their talents under the theme, "Our Culture, Our Heritage." He encouraged parents to take charge of shaping their children's character, warning that the future of the nation depends on the values instilled in young people today.

He acknowledged the role of schools in nurturing children, given the significant time students spend in educational institutions. However, he insisted that parents must fulfill their responsibility to guide their children and ensure they grow into responsible citizens.

Owek. Bwanika expressed concern over the increasing cases of drug abuse, theft, violence, and immoral behavior among the youth. He called for a collective effort from parents, teachers, and other responsible parties to save the next generation.

"Restoring morals should not be seen as a task for Buganda alone but a responsibility for all Ugandans and the world at large," he emphasized.

As the Chairman of the Board of Founders for Stena Schools, Bwanika explained that they chose this theme to awaken parents and remind children of the value of culture and good conduct. He also praised Stena Hill SS for balancing academics and talent development, producing well-rounded individuals.

The chief guest, Omw. Stephen Kalule, the head of education in Makindye division, also urged parents to support their children's talents, noting that the arts, once viewed as a path for failures, now offer significant opportunities for fame, income, and growth.

He advised that moral restoration should start with the youngest children, led by parents, teachers, and guardians, to nurture disciplined and impactful individuals for the nation's future.

The event concluded with awarding Senior Six students for their academic performance, with all 27 candidates qualifying for university, and recognizing winners in a talent competition. The competition featured performances from four houses — Europe, Africa, America, and Asia — with Africa emerging as the overall winner.
