The RDC of Mityana has handed back a building belonging to Buganda Kingdom, which had been used as his office.
The building in question is located in Mityana, at the Ssaza Ssingo headquarters. For a long time, it has been used as an office for Presidential Representatives in Mityana, despite a directive from the Head of State instructing government entities to vacate Buganda Kingdom properties or pay rent.
Today, the Mityana Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mukiibi Joseph, has implemented the agreements made in the memorandum between His Majesty the Kabaka and President Museveni to return Buganda Kingdom’s properties.
As part of this, he officially handed over the building to the Ssaza Chief of Ssingo, Oweek. Deogratious Kagimu.

Mukwenda hands over building to his third deputy, Jjumba Stephen
Upon receiving the building, Oweek. Deogratious Kagimu urged Presidential Representatives to take this as an example and return all other land and buildings that rightfully belong to Buganda Kingdom.
Mukwenda Kagimu entrusted the building to his third deputy, Mr. Jjumba Stephen, to serve as an administrative office overseeing key departments, including trade and markets, elderly affairs, culture and heritage, tourism, projects, and development.
As we report this, a signpost has already been installed, indicating the services that will be provided at the new administrative office.
The event was attended by the first deputy of Mukwenda, Mr. Tusuubira Moses, and other dignitaries.
