Buganda Kingdom has expressed concern about the decline in morality, respect and behaviour that distinguishes Baganda.

Nnaalinnya Lubuga Agnes Nabaloga while speaking at the closing of a two-day conference for the Royal Tourism Service at the Mmengo Tourism Centre, said the gift of humanity among the Baganda is inbred in the culture, but because there are many people who have integrated with the Baganda, with their own values and behaviour, the Baganda have started to waiver from their culture that sets them apart from others. She urged the people of the Kingdom that although they should cooperate with people from other backgrounds, they should maintain the true Buganda values while upholding the good image of the Kingdom.

The Nnaalinnya thanked the Buganda ministers for their dedication and fulfilment of the responsibilities given to them, and asked them to put into practice what they were taught.

The Minister for the Lukiiko, Cabinet and Office of the Katikkiro, Oweek Noah Kiyimba, said the workshop was organised to preserve the dignity of the throne, which should start with the ministers who handle the affairs of the royal ceremonies.

He informed the Nnaalinnya that the royal hospitality is now at an international level because they have been able to host distinguished guests at the Bulange who express their gratitude for the warm welcome given to them. He cited the example of guests from the Rwenzururu leadership, security personnel from the Zimbabwean army, and others and said it was important to prepare the protocol officials for such visits.

The protocol officials received a lesson on public speaking and weighing of words to use on such occasions.

Omukungu David Ntege, the head of the royal hospitality department, guided the protocol officials on dress, behaviour, speech, hygiene, and relationship with the people they host.
