The Minister for Local Government and External Affairs in Buganda Kingdom, Owek. Joseph Kawuki, has urged Kabaka’s representatives to always unite the people of Buganda and avoid divisive politics.

He made these remarks while meeting leaders of counties outside Buganda within Uganda, as well as the Kabaka’s representative from Scandinavia, at Bulange, Mmengo, on Tuesday.

Owek. Kawuki emphasized that one of the key pillars of the Buganda Kingdom is unity, and he called on these representatives to steer clear of politics and other issues that may create divisions among the people.

He reminded them to carry out their duties with proper planning, ensuring that their annual programs align with well-structured budgets. This, he noted, helps the people understand how their contributions are used in the development of the Kingdom.

Owek. Kawuki further encouraged them to strengthen the county meetings at all levels, ensuring that leadership structures are well-organized and committed to mobilizing and uniting all Kabaka’s subjects.

The Kabaka’s representative in Scandinavia, Owek. Nelson Mugenyi, stated that the meeting provided an opportunity to present their planned activities for the year, which include a youth conference, Buganda Day, and several other initiatives.

Among the representatives present were those from Busoga, Ankole, Rwenzori, Mbale, and Busia, as well as those from Scandinavian countries including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.
