Kabaka’s subjects in Kooki County have received a new office to coordinate his affairs, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Buganda’s presence in the region.

This office, located in Lumbugu, was donated by Hon. George William Kasumba Ddumba, a representative in the Buganda Lukiiko and the Second Deputy Coordinator of Kooki County.

It will serve as a temporary administrative center until the central government returns Buganda’s properties, including the official county headquarters.

The Coordinator of Kooki County, Ms. Gertrude Ssebuggwawo, stated that the people of Kooki believe in action rather than words. She emphasized that their commitment to practical efforts has enabled them to overcome challenges and secure this office.

While inaugurating the office, the Buganda Minister for Local Government and External Affairs, Hon. Joseph Kawuki, commended those dedicated to the development of Buganda, noting that their efforts demonstrate a deep sense of patriotism.

He emphasized that initiatives like this help maintain Buganda’s resilience and continuity.

He further stated that when the King returned, some of his men had provided him with an office to sit in. However, today, he reigns over Buganda from his rightful place. This, he explained, symbolizes the undying spirit of Buganda.

He urged people not to be discouraged by those who talk a lot but contribute little to progress, stating that such individuals should be regarded as "missed calls"—left unanswered.

Hon. Kawuki congratulated the people of Kooki on this achievement and extended his gratitude to Hon. George William Kasumba and his wife for their generosity in donating this space as a symbol of their commitment to the county’s development.

He encouraged Kabaka’s representatives to make the best use of this office in fulfilling their responsibilities and serving the Kabaka’s people.

Additionally, he urged them to maintain the office’s cleanliness and dignity to uphold Buganda’s pride and heritage.
