The Katikkiro being received by widow Germina Ssemogerere

The Katikkiro has visited the widow of the late Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere to check on her following a fire outbreak that gutted their home in Lubaga in June this year.

Widow Germina Ssemogerere told the Katikkiro that the house had been insured and that there is hope it will be restored.

The Katikkiro noted that it is wise to insure houses even though they rarely catch fire. He said the home of a prominent figure like Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere attracted a lot of media attention, and people should take this as an example of the importance of insuring their homes. He added that house insurance should not be underestimated, comparing it to motor insurance, since homes are often considered less risky and therefore attract relatively low premiums.

He further observed that many people insure their vehicles but neglect to insure their houses, wrongly assuming they are not at risk. He urged the public to spread awareness about house insurance, stressing that it is an important measure that can protect lives and property.

The Katikkiro also thanked the children of the late Dr. Ssemogerere and Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere for taking good care of the widow, and he encouraged them to continue giving her comfort and support.
