Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has encouraged Somali leaders to actively participate in the programs of the Buganda Kingdom at all levels, aiming to strengthen their relationship with the Kingdom and its people.
He delivered this message through his First Deputy, Owek. Alhaji Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo, during a meeting with some Somali leaders in Uganda, led by their chairman, Omw. Kalif Mohammed, at the Kingdom’s palace.
The Somali leaders highlighted the challenges they face, particularly in areas such as healthcare, sports, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities, often compounded by the difficulties of living as refugees. They also mentioned the presence of individuals attempting to mislead them into unfavorable paths.
