Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has condemned the growing disorder among musicians, particularly the recent chaos symbolized by the "Ggaali" phenomenon.

He emphasized that music is a vital profession capable of driving development and urged talented individuals to dedicate themselves to their work for greater benefits.

During a meeting with Hajarah Namukwaya, popularly known as Spice Diana, at Bulange, Mmengo, on Tuesday, Katikkiro encouraged musicians to conduct their work with discipline and responsibility. Namukwaya had visited the palace to officially invite Katikkiro to her concert at Serena Hotel, where she will celebrate 10 years in the music industry.

Katikkiro stated that musicians who commit wholeheartedly to their craft are likely to reap significant rewards. He also warned them to avoid being exploited by politicians for their agendas, saying, “Some politicians use musicians to achieve their goals and later discard them when they are no longer useful.”

He addressed the ongoing disputes and conflicts within the music industry, calling for professional mediation to resolve such issues amicably. Katikkiro urged musicians to avoid chaos and disputes, which undermine their talent, and to seek guidance from experienced individuals to address their challenges.

He also acknowledged the misunderstandings involving Patrick Mulwana (Alien Skin) and Mayanja Pius (Pallaso), suggesting they seek advice or involve a mediator to resolve their differences.

Katikkiro highlighted the importance of leveraging their talent to improve their livelihoods. He encouraged musicians to explore opportunities such as investing in land or participating in government schemes like Treasury Bills and Bonds to secure their futures.

Additionally, he urged artists to actively participate in Buganda Kingdom’s initiatives, such as Kabaka’s birthday celebrations and other cultural events. Katikkiro praised Spice Diana for her involvement in Buganda’s programs.
