Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga visited Mbogo Mixed Secondary School, which is celebrating 25 years of excellence in education this year.

He was accompanied by the Buganda Minister of Education, Owek. Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, and was welcomed by the County Chief of Kyaddondo, Owek. Ahmed Magandaazi Matovu, along with the school headmaster, Mr. Lumu Hamid.

The school was founded in memory of Prince Nuuhu Mbogo, who is remembered for his significant contributions towards stabilising Buganda and Uganda, and promoting the Islamic faith in Uganda.

Owek. Mayiga used the occasion to challenge parents who neglect their responsibility in educating their children, allowing them to loiter in villages during school hours.

He emphasised that education is a light that brightens children's futures and opens numerous opportunities. He encouraged parents to make every effort to educate their children to avoid future challenges.

He commended the school's leadership for nurturing the country's youth over the years and urged them to instil good morals in students, not just academic knowledge.

He advised students to focus on their studies and participate in other school programs such as sports, leadership, and music, which can enhance their future prospects.

The Buganda Minister of Education, Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, praised the school's leadership for their collaboration with the Kingdom and the community, especially parents.

Owek. Ahmed Magandaazi Matovu, the County Chief of Kyaddondo, welcomed the Katikkiro and commended the school for its excellent work, which has contributed to the good quality of education and the preparation of Uganda's future generation.

He also thanked the school's leadership for supporting various Kingdom initiatives.
