Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has urged his subjects living in the Arab world to strengthen unity, identify their challenges, and address them with a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.

In a message delivered through Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga at the opening of the Buganda Bumu Arab and Asian Convention 2025 in Dubai, the Kabaka reminded his people that Baganda must never allow anything to divide them.

He also emphasized that Buganda remains a blessed land, and encouraged his subjects abroad to learn from the countries where they live and apply those lessons to develop Buganda and Uganda at large. The Kabaka warned against divisions and urged unity in pursuit of common goals.

The Katikkiro further encouraged leaders to be steadfast and forward-looking. He stressed that leadership is about responsibility, not privilege, and that true honour comes from service. When a leader serves well, they earn respect and recognition. But when they fail, they lose trust, because reputation is sustained only by performance.

Buganda’s Minister for Local Government and Foreign Affairs, Owek. Joseph Kawuki, told the leaders that good service benefits both the nation and the individual through knowledge and respect. He urged them never to tire in their service to Buganda and Uganda.

The Kabaka’s representative in the Arab Region, Owek. Sheikh Abbas Nsubuga, thanked the Katikkiro for providing exemplary leadership and encouraged fellow leaders to follow his example.
