The Katikkiro also toured Fakhruddin Construction Company, which pledged to support the Kingdom’s initiatives with a $1,000 donation.
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga, met with the Minister of Economy and Tourism in the Government of Dubai, Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, and highlighted opportunities in the Kingdom of Buganda that could attract the interest of the UAE government and its citizens.
The meeting took place at the ministry headquarters in Dubai. The Katikkiro outlined Buganda’s investment potential, while Minister Mohammed pledged to establish a platform to strengthen relations between the UAE, Buganda, and Uganda as a whole.

The meeting was also attended by Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, Hon. Zaake Wannume Kibedi, who noted that the UAE is the leading importer of goods from Uganda, most of which are agricultural.
Visit to Fakhruddin Construction Company
As part of his working visit to the UAE, the Katikkiro and his delegation toured Fakhruddin Construction Company in Dubai. The company demonstrated their modern construction technology, including systems that allow entire rooms to be powered down with a single command.
They also showcased eco-friendly innovations such as recycling plastic bottles into useful products.

Fakhruddin expressed readiness to partner with Buganda so that this advanced construction technology can benefit the Kabaka’s people. The company also donated $1,000 to support the Kingdom’s development initiatives.
The Katikkiro was accompanied by Buganda ministers Joseph Kawuki, Hajji Amis Kakomo, Hon. Robert Sserwanga Ssalongo, Sheikh Abbas Nsubuga (Arabian Regional Ambassador), his deputies, and several other officials.
