Katikkiro delivers his message as he prepares for the fasting season
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has delivered his message as he prepares for the sacred period of prayer and fasting. In his address, he urged everyone to embrace love, unity, and mutual respect for diverse perspectives.
At this time, Christians have begun their fasting season, embarking on a journey of drawing closer to God, repentance, and self-reflection. Similarly, Muslims continue their observance of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, dedicating themselves to prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness.
Katikkiro Mayiga emphasized that the period of prayer and fasting is not only for Christians and Muslims but also a reminder for all people about the importance of unity, strengthening relationships, and fostering love.
He stated, "Unity and respect for different viewpoints are among the most essential values in our lives. Fasting is not merely about abstaining from food; it is a time for self-reflection, forgiveness, and spreading love to others."
Religious leaders have also encouraged believers to use this time wisely, promoting understanding and working together to uphold peace and harmony.
May God grant us His grace, and may this fasting season bring inner peace, spiritual strength, and positive transformation in our lives and the world at large.
