The Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, presided over a youth environment workshop that was held at Exodus College School in Wakiso.

The Katikkiro was warmly welcomed by the Buganda Minister of Environment, Hon. Mariam Mayanja Nkalubo, Minister Robert Serwanga, Ssebwana Charles Kiberu Kisiriiza, Omulongo Wasswa William (the founder of the school), and other Buganda dignitaries.

The youth environmental workshop began with school children, bringing together various schools at Exodus College to ensure that the youth are trained and educated on the importance of protecting the environment.

The Katikkiro officially launched the workshop at Exodus College School in Banda, Wakiso (Busiro County), where the youth training was conducted as part of the preparations for Buganda’s Environment Week.

The Katikkiro emphasized that saving the country’s future, especially concerning environmental issues, starts with educating the youth at an early age so they can understand the importance of environmental conservation.

The theme of Environment Week is:

"For a Clean Buganda, Let’s Stop the Harmful Effects of Plastic on the Environment."
