Katikkiro addresses graduates at the Buganda Royal Institute, encouraging them to strengthen their skills and embrace patience for long-term success
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has advised graduates of the Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education to be patient and avoid rushing in pursuit of quick wealth. He urged them to remain calm, focus on strengthening their skills, and understand that success comes through hard work and dedication.
Katikkiro made these remarks while presiding over the graduation of over 1,064 students who earned Diplomas and Certificates at the 19th graduation ceremony of the Buganda Royal Institute.
He emphasized that the world needs individuals who apply expertise in their work and encouraged graduates to start their ventures using their acquired skills, passion, and creativity.
The Katikkiro highlighted that education in the colonial era focused primarily on wearing suits and ties, and many people equated education with appearance.
However, he clarified that success is not determined by outward appearances but by dedication and effort. He stated that professionals such as chefs, builders, and others who work diligently can achieve fulfillment and success. A skilled builder, for example, earns both satisfaction and rewards from their labor.

The Principal of the institute, Oweek. Joseph Balikuddembe Ssenkusu, added that the success achieved by the Buganda Royal Institute over the past 25 years is rooted in the guidance of His Majesty the Kabaka, the support of his Cabinet, the commitment of parents to pay school fees, and the dedication of students to excel in their studies.
The Minister for Education and Community Development, Oweek. Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, noted that the kingdom's initiative to establish nursery schools in counties (Masaza) requires experts who can uplift the standards of education in these schools.
She mentioned that graduates from the Buganda Royal Institute have a significant opportunity to secure jobs in these schools.
One of the graduates, Nambiito Mary Clofa, excelled with a GPA of 4.45 and was awarded UGX 500,000 in recognition of her outstanding performance.
