His Majesty the King, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II (Middle)

His Majesty King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II returned to his homeland from Namibia, where he has been resting for a while and being monitored by doctors regarding his health.

The King was welcomed by Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga, Queen Sylvia Nagginda, Princess Agnes Nabaloga, and the Children of the Drum, including Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa and Princess Victoria Nkinzi.

The royal family expressed their gratitude to everyone who stood by them during the time when His Majesty was abroad receiving medical treatment. Their message was read by Prince Cryspin Jjunju Kiweewa to the press, as they announced the return of His Majesty to his homeland.

They said: "We thank God for extending His healing hand to His Majesty, enabling him to recover sufficiently to return to Buganda today.

We continue to place His Majesty in God's hands, praying for his continued recovery while he is here in Buganda.

We know that the people of Buganda, Uganda, and the world have been praying for His Majesty, wishing him good health. We deeply appreciate these prayers, and God has heard and answered them.

We thank the team of doctors and staff who have been treating and caring for His Majesty over the past months in Germany, Switzerland, and Namibia. We ask God to reward them, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

We are grateful to the Government and people of Namibia, who hosted His Majesty for the past three months, for their hospitality and the security provided to him. Namibia is a wonderful country with many blessings, which is why His Majesty chose it for treatment and rest.

It is unfortunate that a few individuals, pursuing their own interests, have spread rumours and done things that disrespect and insult the nation of Namibia. These people have broken our tradition of humanity. As family members, we apologise to the Government of Namibia for the deliberate misdeeds of these few individuals.

We are very grateful to the Government of Uganda, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for their efforts in working with the Government of Namibia during the time His Majesty was there.

We thank the Prime Minister of Buganda, ministers, chiefs, and servants of His Majesty’s government for managing the affairs of the Kingdom while His Majesty was away.

In particular, we thank the staff who have been with His Majesty throughout his time abroad. We deeply appreciate your work.

His Majesty has returned to Buganda but remains under the care of doctors and still requires treatment and rest until he is fully recovered.

We, the family, will continue to support and care for him.

We ask the people of Buganda to be patient and to continue to respect His Majesty's dignity and personal freedom during this time.
