Roar on, roar on, our King! We thank God.

Today, the entire Kingdom of Buganda celebrates with joy and pride as His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II marks his 70th birthday.

In a heartfelt statement, the Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, described the moment as a time of great honor and gratitude, emphasizing the blessing of having a monarch who has reached this milestone in peace.

“As a person, I am extremely happy because from the time I first saw the Kabaka in person when he was 36 years old until now, I have had the privilege to serve closely alongside him — and even now, he entrusted me with the Ddamula (royal mace) to serve as his Premier. Roar on, oh Mighty One! My family and I wish you God’s grace, good health, peace, and joy,” said Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga.

The Katikkiro added that prayers are being offered for the Kabaka’s continued long life, happiness, freedom, and divine grace to help him fulfill the responsibilities upon his shoulders.

People from across all counties of Buganda have joined together in prayer, song, and thanksgiving to God for blessing the Kingdom with a reigning monarch who leads in peace.
