Before the run began, His Majesty stepped out of his vehicle and waved to jubilant crowds at the palace
The Kabaka was joined by Nnaalinnya Lubuga Agness Nabaloga, Prince Richard Ssemakookiro, Prince Cryspin Jjunjju Kiweewa, Prince David Kintu Wasajja, Lady Marion Nankya, and other royal family members.

The event started from Kabaka's Lake at Wapato Park in Tacoma, Washington, and was officiated by the Kabaka’s Representative in the region, Owek. Eng. Moses Ggayi Mayanja.
Excitement filled Buganda and beyond, as people from various counties, sub-counties, villages, and the diaspora joined in prayer and running to honour Kabaka Mutebi at 70.
