Excitement is mounting as preparations to celebrate the 70th birthday of Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II gain momentum. Key events are lined up, with major ceremonies taking shape in anticipation of the grand celebrations.
The organizing committee recently visited St. Peter’s Bombo Kalule School, home to the Maasomoogi building, which has been dedicated in the Kabaka’s honor and will officially be inaugurated on April 4, 2025.
Owek. Choltida Nakate Kikomeko, the Vice Chairperson of the committee, led the delegation and emphasized that the preparations aim to highlight the King’s legacy, especially as he marks this milestone.

Kangaawo Omulangira Ronald Mulondo, the founder of the school, expressed gratitude to the Kabaka for recognizing the institution. He reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that this historic moment is accorded the dignity it deserves.
He also encouraged Bannabulemeezi to actively participate in all the Kabaka’s birthday events, particularly the much-anticipated Kabaka Birthday Run set for April 6, 2025.
The run, themed “Running to Fight HIV/AIDS, Stay Healthy, Strengthen Unity, and Celebrate 70 Years of Ssaabasajja”, will take place at the Lubiri in Mengo, with organizers urging mass participation.
