On Sunday 8 October 2023, the minister for Heritage, Palaces, Tombs, Tourism & Security in the Buganda government, Hon. Anthony Wamala joined the congregation at St Nicholas Cathedral - Namungoona in the Divine Liturgy and special service  dedicated to Buganda Kingdom which celebrates her 61st independence from Britain today.

The service that seeks God's continual protection of Buganda and the Kabaka was co-performed by Reverend Fathers Emmanuel Kiwanuka and Stelios Kasule, while Fr. Dr. A.S. Nicholas Bayego, who holds the position of Dean of the Cathedral, is not in the country.

Fr. Stelios Kasule also delivered the sermon on the occasion of Bulungi bwansi Community service  in Buganda.

The celebrations marked a week-long period dedicated to community service and enhancement of awareness of local governments across the boundaries of the Kingdom. Hon. Anthony Wamala read out Katikkiro's comprehensive message to the people of Buganda which emphasizes; togetherness, hygiene, tree-planting and protection of wetlands.
