
Regis College President, Antoinette M. Hays, after meeting officials from the Buganda Kingdom
Buganda Kingdom has begun efforts to establish a formal partnership with Regis College, a university based in Massachusetts, USA.
Earlier on Thursday 29th May, Buganda ministers Owek. Noah Kiyimba and Owek. Joseph Kawuki met with senior officials from the university to hold discussions aimed at exploring areas of mutual collaboration.
During the meeting, the ministers shared insights about the Buganda Kingdom and highlighted the need for cooperation in promoting education and healthcare, particularly through strengthening ties with Muteesa I Royal University, which is managed by the Kingdom.
The President of Regis College, Antoinette M. Hays, welcomed the engagement and expressed the university’s readiness to collaborate with the Kingdom. She noted potential areas of cooperation such as faculty training, online learning for students, internships, intercultural exchange programs, medical training, and more.

President Hays also expressed interest in visiting Muteesa I Royal University in the near future.
The two sides agreed that the Kingdom would submit a formal written proposal outlining its needs and areas of interest.
The Buganda delegation also included Owek. Henry Matovu Ndawula, the Kabaka’s representative in the New England region, his deputy Phionah Nattabi Kafeero, Dr. David Nyanzi, and Allen Namukasa.
On the side of Regis College, President Hays was accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mary Erina Driscoll, Vice President for Communications Michael K. Guilfoyle, and Vice President for Global Affairs.
