The Bishop of West Buganda, Rt. Rev. Henry Katumba Tamale, and his wife, Canon Elizabeth Julia Tamale, have paid a courtesy visit to the Katikkiro of Buganda as he prepares to retire from the diocese he has led since 2016.

Bp. Tamale expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Buganda for its support throughout his ministry. He commended Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for his dedication to improving people's lives in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

He also thanked Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga for his exemplary service to the Kabaka and for fostering unity in Buganda without discrimination.

Katikkiro praises Bp. Katumba Tamale’s leadership

Katikkiro Mayiga lauded Bp. Tamale for his outstanding leadership, highlighting his ability to serve selflessly and without pressure.

He noted that Bp. Tamale’s ministry has been impactful and commended him not only for spiritual guidance but also for encouraging self-reliance and development among the people.

The Katikkiro further appreciated Bp. Tamale for his strong support of the #EmmwanyiTerimba coffee campaign.

He wished Bp. Tamale and Canon Elizabeth Julia Tamale a fulfilling retirement and urged them to continue serving Buganda and the nation in different capacities.
