The First Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, and a delegation that left the palace for Kano, Nigeria, to attend the "Kano Durbar" celebrations, today met with the Emir of Kano, His Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, at his Palace, Kano, and they entrusted him with the King's message, which had been secret.
The Hon. Kaawaase explained to the Emir, how the Kingdom uses the Kabaka's reputation, to form alliances that support the Kingdom's humanitarian programs, and presented him with a Quran.
The main riding ceremonies of the provincial groups were also held today at the Emir's Palace, each group being led by the prince, while the Emir, who also participated directly, rode on horseback.
The Emir meets his guests and talks to them, one by one, and then serves them dinner.
