During his visit to Emir Alhajj Aminu Ado Bayero of Kano, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, along with Hon. Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja attended the "Royal Durbar Dinner" hosted by the Emir to celebrate all the events of Kano Durbar
The dinner was held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, and was attended by the Deputy Governor of Kano; the Sultan of Agadez, Nigeria; Ambassadors and other leaders.
The Emir thanked all his guests, for agreeing to celebrate the Kano Durbar with them this year.
He said this program will help them promote tourism, trade, and culture.
He promised to work with traditional leaders on the continent to find a unified forum where they can address issues of culture, tradition, human development, and health.
In his message, Hon. Kaawaase thanked the Emir for the dinner and for inviting the King, and the Kingdom of Buganda, to this year's Kano Durbar.
He pointed out the history that unites the people of the Emir and Buganda and asked for this collaboration to be strengthened.
The Deputy Governor stressed the need for politicians to work together with traditional leaders on issues affecting the common man.
