His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has urged the people of Buganda to be a beacon of progress and development within the Kingdom. He called on them to stop relying on others for assistance and instead take the initiative to actively participate in work and programmes aimed at improving their own lives.

The Kabaka’s message was delivered by Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa during the official launch of a new executive committee of the Kabaka Foundation UK & Ireland, held at the Royal National Hotel in London.

The Kabaka expressed appreciation for members of the Buganda community living abroad who have tirelessly supported the Kabaka Foundation’s efforts to uplift the welfare of his people.

He also commended the expansion of the foundation’s chapters in various countries, which are playing a major role in mobilising aid and partnerships to support the Foundation’s mission.

Edward Kaggwa Ndagala, Chief Executive Officer of the Kabaka Foundation, said the foundation’s work has been strongly driven by these international boards established by the Kabaka. These include Kabaka Foundation Sweden, Midwest USA, California, Boston, and Canada.

Ssaalongo Geoffrey Kibuuka, the Kabaka’s representative in the UK and Ireland, praised His Majesty for the initiatives implemented through the Kabaka Foundation to improve people’s livelihoods.

The newly appointed head of the UK and Ireland chapter, Henry Mutumba, pledged on behalf of the board to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them by the Kabaka.
