BBF Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Topic: Joining & Registration

Q: How do I register to become a member of BBF?
A: Registration is done entirely online. To register, click here and proceed to provide your details and complete the application form.
Q: Which "Bendobendo" (Region) will I be assigned to?
A: Your region is determined by your location in the UK. The regions are listed below. Once your application is approved, you will be notified of the region you belong to.
  • Manchester
  • South & West England
  • North London
  • East London, Essex & East Anglia
  • Scotland & Ireland (including Northern Ireland)
Q: I registered but haven’t received a welcome email. What should I do?
A: Please check your Spam or Junk folder first, as automated emails often end up there. If you find it there, mark it as "Not Spam" to ensure you receive future alerts. If it still hasn't arrived after 24 hours, contact your Bendobendo (region) lead.

Topic: Payments & Fees

Q: How much is the subscription fee?
A: There is a one-time, non-refundable subscription fee of £25 to join the fund.
Q: How do I make my payment?
A: You should not pay until you receive your Welcome Email when your application is approved, which will have instructions on how to pay.
Q: How do I know if my payment was received?
A: You will receive a confirmation email of your payment. Also, when you login to your account under “Payments”, your invoice will display the payment status as “Paid”.

Topic: Membership Rules

Q: Is there a waiting period before I am covered?
A: Yes. When you register and subsequently pay the membership fee, you will be an interim member for 90 days (3 months) from the date of payment before becoming a full member covered by the fund.
Q: What happens if I pass away during the waiting period?
A: If a member passes away during their initial 3-month waiting period, BBF will not contribute towards their funeral expenses. Coverage begins fully only after the 3 months have elapsed.
Q: Do I have to contribute to other funerals during my waiting period?
A: No. You are not expected to contribute to other members' bereavement costs until your own membership becomes fully active (after the 3 months).

Topic: Communication & Troubleshooting

Q: I am an existing member, but I am not seeing death announcements or payment requests.
A: We communicate primarily via email.
Gmail Users: Google often groups emails into "Conversation Threads." Expand the thread to see the latest message. Search “BBF” in your inbox.
Check Spam: Always check your spam folder regularly.
Q: I received a phone call asking for a BBF contribution. Is this real?
A: Be careful. BBF administration will never call you randomly. All official requests are via Email Notification (and supported by messages on the official WhatsApp forums). If you receive a suspicious call, hang up. Call back using official numbers provided.
Q: Who do I contact if I made a mistake on my form?
A: Please contact the support team for your specific Bendobendo (Region) immediately. It is vital to fix errors now to ensure your coverage is not affected.
