Katikkiro inspects restoration progress at the Kasubi Tombs alongside other kingdom officials
The restoration of the Kasubi Tombs has reached advanced stages, with the King commending the work that has been carried out.
Renovation of the compound, repair of the roof of the motor house, wiring every section with electricity, and completion of the Abazaana houses—some of the remaining elements to be restored—are all part of the project so that the restoration work may receive its final hand-finished touches.
When this work was inspected, the King's ministers—those appointed to the Buganda Parliament, especially members of the Culture and Heritage Committee, including Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga—stated that the detailed work in refurbishing the houses required careful attention, and that the manual finishing touches must be executed properly.

At this time, archaeologists, schools, and local community members are permitted to visit these tombs following UNESCO's recent removal of these heritage sites from the endangered list in the region.
The Kasubi Tombs were set ablaze in 2010, and since then, efforts to restore them have been carried out in various ways, including repairing the door frames, roofing, and other elements.
