The First Deputy Prime Minister of Buganda, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, has gone to Kano

Northern Nigeria, where he is on official duty, to attend the "Kano Durbar Cultural and Religious Festival" He is accompanied by Hon. Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja, and her assistant, Joweria Mbejjo.

"Kano Durbar", a socio-religious themed event, celebrates the culmination of the month of Ramadan of Eid Elfitr, and the Eid Al-Adha of slaughtering animals, in the region.

It circles around the Emir of Kano, starting with a prayer, and then a horse procession, towards the Emir of Kano Palace, where the ceremony ends with people gathering to show their obedience to the Emir.

The festival lasts four days with various local cultures and activities.
