The Speaker of the Buganda Olukiiko, Hon. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, attended a mass organized by the leaders of Ridgeway Grammar School in Matugga to pray for students preparing for their final Primary Seven exams.
The ceremony was led by the Archbishop of Kampala Archdeaconry, Paul Ssemogerere. Hon. Mugumbule, the chief guest, urged parents not to pressure their children for top marks, saying that undue stress could lead them to engage in activities that tarnish the reputation the school has built over the years, such as cheating.
These are the students who were prayed for. Hon. Mugumbule praised the school founder, Mr. Evans Ssenabulya, for his deep dedication to the Kingdom.
Hon. Mugumbule thanked Mr. Ssenabulya Evans Kanyike for his love for the Kingdom and for his good cooperation with him even during his tenure as Chief of Kyaddondo “Kaggo” county.
Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere urged school owners to guide the children of the country not to focus only on money but to earn it by improving the quality of education in their schools.
He also encouraged students to display good conduct during this time and to respect adults when they return after their exams.
Mr. Ssenabulya, the school owner, confirmed that students are well-prepared and confident of passing.
Currently, Senior Four students have begun their final exams, while Primary Seven candidates are on alert as they will start their exams early next month at their respective centers.
