Katikkiro calls for Dr. Besigye’s release

During his speech, Katikkiro Mayiga also called for the release of Dr. Kizza Besigye, expressing concern over his continued detention despite being unwell. He noted that such actions damage Uganda’s reputation internationally.

He urged the government to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice, stating, "A country governed by the rule of law prospers. Without laws, there is no freedom, and human rights are violated."

Katikkiro concluded by encouraging Baganda to remain united and support the Kingdom’s development agenda, emphasizing that their contributions directly impact the well-being of their communities.
