Chaired by the First Deputy Katikkiro and Minister responsible for Public Service in the Kingdom, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo, the meeting began with a briefing from the Accountant General’s office, focusing on land management and the ways Kingdom staff can avoid common errors in land purchases and sales.

Hon. Kaawaase noted that the Kabaka employs over 1,700 staff and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in service delivery. He thanked the Kingdom staff for their dedication throughout the year and encouraged continued participation in all Kingdom programs and initiatives.

“Working for the Kingdom instills prestige, enabling one to excel in other roles. This requires maintaining discipline, being punctual, collaborating with colleagues, showing respect to supervisors and subordinates alike, and adhering to the directives of the Kabaka in all assigned duties,” said Prof. Kaawaase.

In light of the current political climate, Hon. Kaawaase urged staff to remain united:

“Participate in elections, but avoid corruption.”

Prof. Kaawaase then presented the Staff of the Year Awards:

  • Third Place: Mr. Ssenoga Kenneth
  • Second Place: Mr. Dennis Ssebwana

“Salary alone will not determine your success; what you achieve through your dedication and how you use your resources matters most.”

He urged staff to be prudent with funds, avoid exploiting others in transactions, and always respect the Kabaka, who appreciates dedicated service.

The Chief Secretary in the Katikkiro’s office and Head of Kingdom Staff, Ms. Josephine Nantege, thanked employees for their hard work throughout the year and encouraged them to maintain professionalism, using discipline to guide their duties.

The Deputy Chief Secretary, Mr. Peter Zzaake, emphasized the importance of proper staff performance in carrying out the Kabaka’s work. He thanked the Katikkiro for his strong leadership and Prof. Kaawaase for setting a positive example for all staff, urging them to honor the responsibilities entrusted to them.
