Stop Sexually Harassing Children in Schools - Katikkiro

Stop Sexually Harassing Children in Schools - Katikkiro

The Katikkiro Peter Mayiga has called on teachers to stop all acts of sexually harassing students revealing that whatever steps are possible will be undertaken to end this behavior in the country. The Katikkiro said this while attending the launch of Karen Kindergarten School in which they were also celebrating victory in the recent PLE results.

The Katikkiro went on to refer to reports in the news two weeks back about teachers who sexually harass children. He said “How dare you start seducing such young children to the extent of even sweet talking them? The religious people are here, maybe those are the worst sins they say God cannot forgive."

The Katikiro said that people are no longer ashamed and it is on this note that he urged parents to nurture their children with good morals so that they grow up responsibly. He noted that once a child exceeds the age of 12 years when he or she is not trustworthy, the child is most likely to grow up to be a bad element. When it comes to life challenges, such children tend to follow a certain trend such as examination malpractice. The Katikkiro wondered how a parent can connive with a child to do such an act, then later when the child steals from the parent, justify that as satan coming to tempt them.

Meanwhile, Margaret Komugisha the owner of the school revealed the history of the school to the Katikiro including reading out the results of all candidates. She said "We had 16 candidates for PLE and all of them passed in first grade. Honourable Katikiro, I would like to reveal that these candidates have also been the pioneers of this school right from nursery level."
