“We have come here with deep sorrow to announce to Buganda the death of our own John Mulumba Luswata who is the father of Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda. The deceased has been suffering from heart disease for quite some time. He has received treatment in India and Uganda. He was admitted in the Uganda Heart Institute at Mulago for more than a month and he was also admitted in Nakasero hospital.
We send our condolences to the family and children of the late especially Maama Nnabagereka and her siblings for the loss of their father. We also send condolences to the family of Nelson Ssebugwawo in Nkumba for the loss of their beloved brother. It should be noted that the late has been a very important person in the country because he is the father of Nnabagereka. On that note, the government of Ssabasajja Kabaka has appointed a Committee with all these delegates I have introduced to you and shall be headed by Owekitibwa Twaha Kawaase the First Deputy Katikiro of Buganda.
The Committee shall engage with the family of the late to come up with appropriate arrangements and a decent burial for our beloved late John Luswata. What I can announce as of now is that on Monday, April 15, 2019, there shall be a requiem mass for the late at Namirembe Cathedral at 10 am. The burial of the late shall be on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Nkumba at 4 pm. It shall be preceded with prayers at 1 pm. More information and further communications shall be made after the appointed Committee meets with the family of the late. We pray that may the Almighty God have mercy upon the deceased.”
