There are two (2) departments, which deal with disputes that arise.
The first institution is the Kisekwa Court or the dining room of the Katikkiro’s office.
This office resolves disputes among the clans on behalf of the Katikkiro. It consists of a judge who is given the title of Kisekwa, and other members. It listens to proceedings on both sides, then gives a verdict.
The verdict is given to the Katikkiro, who conveys it to the King. The dissatisfied party appeals to the King. There was also a system of appeal against the King’s decision in the form of a deep arrest, but this was removed by King Mutebi II.
The second institution is the Judiciary, which is currently the Attorney General's office.
The office coordinates Constitutional and Justice matters. It tries cases and gives advice on all cases brought by the Kingdom, the King, or the nobles in the federal courts, relating to the affairs of the Kingdom.
