Soliz Marketing and Advertising Company Limited, in collaboration with its stakeholders, has officially launched the Uganda Tourism Forum, an initiative aimed at promoting the country’s tourism sector locally and internationally.

Speaking on behalf of Soliz Marketing and Advertising Ltd., Mr. Charles Kasumba emphasized that the forum's primary goal is to elevate Uganda’s tourism to global standards. He called on all Ugandans to recognize the importance of this initiative, stating that tourism is a collective responsibility that requires everyone’s participation.

Mr. Kasumba further urged the central government to establish a supportive environment for tourism development. He highlighted the need for improved security, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, and fostering national pride in Uganda’s tourism potential.

Representing the Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board (BHTB), Mr. Lule Geofrey Ssemwanga stressed that boosting tourism in the Kingdom should begin with encouraging communities to appreciate and understand historical narratives. He noted that many ancient stories are tied to tourist attractions, and promoting them can help captivate the younger generation.

Mr. Ssemwanga also explained that the strength of the Kingdom lies in its people. By fostering unity, it becomes easier to collectively contribute to the growth and development of the tourism sector.

The Uganda Tourism Forum aims to tackle key challenges in the industry, such as accessing new markets in neighboring countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania, raising global awareness of Uganda’s unique attractions, and upgrading tourism sites to meet international standards.

The launch event brought together various stakeholders, including government tourism officials, cultural leaders, royal representatives, and tourism enthusiasts. It served as a platform for discussing strategies to address challenges and maximize Uganda’s tourism potential.
