The theme of the Kabaka Birthday Run 2024, "Men are stars in the fight against HIV/AIDS to save the Girl Child," underscores the crucial role of men in combating HIV/AIDS to safeguard the Girl Child.
His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the UNAIDS ambassador in Africa, spearheads this vital initiative.
Nnalinya Agnes Nnabaloga ceremoniously flagged off the runners, accompanied by Prince Richard Ssemakookiro and Princess Katrina Mirembe Ssangalyambogo at the Mengo Palace.
Today, roads across various parts of Uganda teemed with enthusiastic runners participating in the Kabaka's birthday run.
The Buganda Royal Institute proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary, coinciding with the commemoration of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II's 69th birthday, as highlighted by Hon. Joseph Balikuddembe, The Principal.

In Butambala county, Hon. Hajj. Sulaiman Magala of Katambala officiated the start of the run at the administrative ward in Musaale Budde Sub County.
Led by Hon. Sserunjogi Sulaiman of Musaale sub-county and Hajjat Jaliah Sseguya, the Kabaka's chiefs, the runners embarked on the race.
Butambala residents, especially men, have been urged to fulfil their responsibilities in the fight against the spread of AIDS.
