The Second Deputy Katikkiro, Owek. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, has called upon parents to nurture their children in family traditions and values, enabling them to uphold and develop family legacies in unity and continuity.

Owek. Nsibirwa emphasized that a lack of guidance in children’s upbringing negatively impacts family stability, as many children inherit assets without the skills to manage or preserve them due to inadequate parental mentorship in cultural and family leadership principles.

He cited the example of his late grandfather, Owek. Martin Luther Nsibirwa, who, despite limited formal education, ensured that all his children received proper schooling and were instilled with values to successfully manage family wealth and responsibilities.

Speaking at the "Great Educators Forum" conference at Hotel Africana, themed "Family Legacy," Owek. Nsibirwa stressed that parents bear the responsibility of shaping their children with a strong foundation in cultural heritage and financial stewardship. He highlighted that such preparation not only preserves family legacy but also fosters intergenerational prosperity.

Owek. Nsibirwa expressed concern that many young people lack the creativity and skills to sustain inherited resources due to insufficient mentorship. He urged parents to stay rooted in family traditions and engage in discussions on how best to strengthen and sustain family well-being.

Buganda’s Minister of Education, Owek. Choltilda Nakate Kikomeko, praised the conference as an important platform for exchanging ideas to advance education in the kingdom. She encouraged educators to embrace innovations and continuously improve their professional competencies to meet the evolving needs of learners.
