Ministers of the kings and the former Katikkiro Joseph Mulwanyamuli
Dignitaries from the Kingdom and various officials gathered at Makerere University to attend a lecture on the late Hon. Martin Luther Nsibirwa who was a former Katikkiro of Buganda.
The late Nsibirwa played the primary role in promoting education in Uganda by offering land at no cost on which Makerere University was instituted a hundred years ago.
This year’s Lecture was held under the theme “Situating the Role and Relevance of Cultural Institutions in Modern Uganda”, and was delivered by Hon. Apollo Nelson Makubuya the keynote speaker.
Apollo Nelson Makubuya is one of the founding partners of MMAKS Advocates, where he heads the Commercial Transactions team.
He is the Senior Palace Advisor to Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and has served in many senior capacities in the Kingdom of Buganda including as Deputy Katikkiro, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. He is the author of“Thrones & Thorns; Reflections on the 30 Years of Restoration of Traditional Rule in Uganda”.
