The kingdom expressed sympathy for the death of Prince James Ssemakookiro, brother of Prince David Namugala Mawanda and son of Prince George William Mawanda.
A prayer for the soul of Prince James Ssemakookiro was held in Namirembe Cathedral, led by the Dean of Lutikko, Ven. Jonathan Kisawuzi.

The message from the Katikkiro was delivered by the Speaker of the Buganda Lukiiko (Parliament of Buganda Kingdom), Oweek. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule.
The service was attended by princes, princesses, retired Katikkiros, MPs, politicians, and other dignitaries.
