The residents of Mulungu were filled with joy as they welcomed their king in large numbers, waving in excitement at his arrival.

His Majesty, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, embarked on a guided tour of the stunning Mulungu landing site at Munyonyo, accompanied by Prince Richard Ssemakookiro.

During the visit to the Mulungu port, the King thoroughly inspected its activities and wholeheartedly approved the development plans for the venue. This strategic move aims to attract a diverse range of visitors, ultimately fostering prosperity within the Kingdom.

In a show of appreciation for the dedication of the youth to the Kingdom, especially in challenging times, the King issued a directive for the careful protection of key locations like Mulungu and others of significance.

The tour at Mulungu beach was a collaborative effort, with the King being accompanied by Ssejjengo Baker, Chairman of the Buganda Youth Council, and BLB employee Ssalongo James Wamala.

Expressing his satisfaction, the King was pleased to witness the smooth operation of businesses at Mulungu and conveyed gratitude to the Buganda Land Board for their diligent care. He also urged the Kingdom to actively develop the site, emphasising the importance of preventing exploitation by selfish individuals Who may wish to take up land at this site.

Minister of Information and Spokesperson for the Kingdom, Hon Israel Kazibwe, highlighted that the development of Mulungu Port would bring honour to the Kingdom.

Denis Bugaya, spokesperson for the Buganda Land Board, underscored the significance of Mulungu Port to the Kingdom, especially during events like the Boat Race. He reassured that no activities compromising the dignity of the lake would be allowed.
