The First Deputy Katikkiro, Oweek. Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo urged people to hold firmly to their beliefs as one of the lessons from Prince Nuhu Mbogo.
Oweek. Kaawaase stated that despite all the challenges Mbogo faced, he remained steadfast in his beliefs, which explains why he became a pillar for the survival of Islam in Uganda. He added his voice to the call for the day commemorating Mbogo's legacy to be included in Uganda's calendar and celebrated, similar to Janan Luwum Day.
Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu attended this event and urged people to avoid wars and conflicts because some individuals exploit these situations for their agendas. He also urged them to learn from his grandfather Mbogo, who avoided all conflicts upon his return from exile, focusing instead on teaching and advancing Islam throughout Uganda. As a result, he was granted land in Kibuli during the 1900 agreement.
He said that Mbogo worked tirelessly to ensure that Islam and its various teachings were firmly established throughout Uganda.
