The chief of the Ngonge clan, Kisolo Kaboggoza Mathias Muwanga thanked his descendants for the unity and determination they showed which enabled them to win the 2023 Clans Football Shield when presenting their winning shield to him.
Chief Kisolo was speaking at a ceremony held at the clan headquarters in Bweza, Busujju, where the Ngonge clan celebrated their victory and presented the shield they won to their clan head.
The Minister of Culture, Heritage, Tourism and Security, Hon. Anthony Wamala, who is also a descendant of Kisolo, praised the skill and enthusiasm shown and urged his teammates to do their best to ensure that the shield is defended next year.
Hon. Wamala also urged the descendants of Kisolo to strengthen the unity of the clan, strive to educate their children and start development activities that uplift the clan and the living conditions of all descendants.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairperson of the Bataka' Council, Nnamwama Augustine Kizito Mutumba, other clan heads, and Katikkiro of the Ngonge clan. Ediriisa Kitandwe and the Council he presided over, and other officials.
Ngonge Clan attained the title after defeating Mbogo Clan with a 2-0 win in football. Ronald Sekiganda and Richard Sonko scored the two important goals for the champions. and this was their first time winning the clan shield.
